Can Sidney Crosby Regain The Scoring Title This Year?

, Sidney Crosby is a competitive athlete; there\'s no disputing that. Though he may say all the right things to the media, claim that he always puts the team first and that individual accolades don\'t matter, you can bet that inside he is seething over losing the scoring title and Hart trophy as the NHL\'s most valuable player to arch-nemesis Alexander Ovechkin from the Washington Capitals.

Now, to be fair to Crosby, he spent a considerable portion of last season injured, and thus, didn\'t ever really have a chance to capture those two pieces of hardware. Still, you know that didn\'t ease the sting at all when Crosby watched Ovechkin accept the awards late last spring.

So we know Sidney Crosby is motivated to get his trophies back. The big question is, can he? Surely Alexander Ovechkin is going to have a thing Ny Islanders Jersey or two to say about it, along with stars like Joe Thornton, Jarome Iginla, Vincent Lecavalier, and even teammate Evgeni Malkin. Gone are the days when players like Gretzky and Lemieux dominated the scoring race year after year. The NHL has more superstar players than ever, and Crosby is going to have a lot of company as he tries to win his second career scoring title.

Still, I think he is up to the challenge. After a bit of a slow start Crosby has started to rack up points in the Ny Islanders Jersey Ny Islanders Jersey past few games. With the help of the aforementioned Evgeni Malkin, he should not have any problem putting up a massive amount of points. Not only does Malkin finish well when Crosby sets him up, but the hulking forwards very presence keeps pressure off Crosby and allows him to work his magic with the puck. As long as Crosby stays healthy this season he has to be considered the odds-on favorite to carry home both the Art Ross and the Hart this year. He is simply the best of the best. Sorry Ovechkin, hope you enjoyed your trophies. You\'re going to be giving them up soon.
